Corps of Engineers Releases Project List (posted April 28, 2009)
On April 28, 2009, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released a complete list of Civil Works projects funded by the stimulus. The $4.6 billion appropriated to the Corps will be distributed among five program accounts: General Construction, General Investigations, Operations and Maintenance, Mississippi River and Tributaries, and Formally Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program.

USDA Funds Watershed Projects (posted April 17, 2009)
On April 16, 2009, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded $84.8 million in stimulus funding to state and local governments for watershed projects. These projects will help rural communities improve their water quality, increase their water supply, decrease soil erosion, and improve fish and wildlife habitats.

Interior Allocates $1 Billion for Water Infrastructure Projects (posted April 17, 2009)
On April 16, 2009, the Department of the Interior announced $1 billion in stimulus funding for water infrastructure projects under the Bureau of Reclamation. This funding will go towards environmental and ecosystem restoration, emergency drought in the West, and meeting future water supply needs, among other uses.

EPA Releases Guidance on State Revolving Funds (posted March 10, 2009)
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act includes $6 billion in the State and Tribal Assistance Grant account for Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) capitalization grants. On March 2nd, the Environmental Protection Agency issued a memorandum providing information and guidance on how the Agency will award and administer these grants. These funds will remain available for obligation until September 30, 2010.

Drinking Water and Clean Water State Revolving Fund Distribution

The stimulus bill did not alter the formula the Federal government will use to distribute
the Environmental Protection Agency's State Revolving Loan Fund dollars. To see the amount of drinking water funding each State is expected to receive through the stimulus, based on the proportional amount each State received last year, click here.
