Labor Releases Green Job Competitive Grant Solicitations (posted Juen 24, 2009)
On June 24, 2009, the Department of Labor (DOL) announced five new grant competitions for stimulus funding. A total of $500 million is available through the five grant programs for green job training. Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply for funding through the Energy Training Partnership program and the Pathways out of Poverty program. The remaining three grant programs are open only to State Workforce Investment Boards or entities currently operating a DOL-funded training program. Each solicitation has a different due date, ranging from August 5, 2009 to October 20, 2009.

ETA Releases Guidelines for Green Job Training Grant Programs (posted May 20, 2009)
On May 15, 2009, the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) provided States with notice of how it plans to award stimulus funds for green job training. A total of $500 million was provided in the stimulus to prepare workers for careers in the energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors. ETA is currently considering five different grant programs to award this funding, which will most likely be distributed competitively to a combination of State Workforce Investments Boards, nonprofit organizations, and labor organizations. Final solicitations for these grant programs are expected to be released in mid-June 2009.

Labor Allocates WIA, Employment Funds (posted April 2, 2009)
On March 27, 2009, the Department of Labor updated their final stimulus fund allocations for the following: the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) programs, Wagner-Peyser Funded Activities, Senior Community Service Employment, and Native American Employment and Training Programs. General State allocations for these programs have been announced previously, but the update details specific recipient State and tribal agencies.

Labor Issues Guidance for ETA Stimulus Funds (posted March 18, 2009)
On March 18, 2009, the Department of Labor issued policy guidance to States for the implementation of Employment and Training Administration (ETA) funds. This letter provides direction on the eligible uses of the $3.5 billion in funding provided by the stimulus bill for ETA programs.

Department of Labor Releases ETA State Allotments (posted March 9, 2009)
On March 6, 2009, the Department of Labor announced State allotments for Employment Training Administration stimulus funds. The economic stimulus legislation included $3.5 billion for workforce investment in youth, adults, displaced workers and employment services.
