NOAA Unveils Recovery Plan (posted April 9, 2009)
On April 7, 2009, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) submitted a proposed Recovery plan to Congress. This plan details how NOAA intends to spend the $830 million appropriated to NOAA by the stimulus.

EPA To Apply Stimulus Funds to FY 2009 Brownfields Grant Applicants (posted April 9, 2009)
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has decided not to accept new applications for the Brownfields assessment, revolving loan fund, and cleanup grants funded by the stimulus. Instead, the EPA will distribute these grants to applicants that applied for funding under the Fiscal Year 2009 competitive grant program.

Leaking Underground Storage Tank Allocations Released (posted April 9, 2009)
On April 8, 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that it had allocated $197 million in stimulus funding for leaking underground storage tank programs. This money was distributed by formula in the form of cooperative agreements between the EPA and all States except North Dakota, who declined these funds.

NOAA Competitive Grant Program Announced (posted March 16, 2009)
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released guidelines for a Coastal and Marine Habitat Restoration Project Grant program. Up to $170 million in grants are available through this program, which will distribute funds competitively to projects able to both stimulate the economy and demonstrate significant ecological gains. A wide variety of entities, including State and local governments, are eligible to apply for these funds. Applications are due on April 6, 2009.
