EPA Awards Brownfields Grants (posted May 11, 2009)

On May 8, 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded $111.9 million to communities in 46 states through the FY 2009 Competition for Brownfields Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup Grants.  This amount included $37.3 million in stimulus funding, which the EPA decided to award to projects submitted under the FY 2009 competition.

EPA Superfund Funding Allocated (posted April 17, 2009)

On April 15, 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency announced $600 million in stimulus funding for the cleanup of hazardous waste (Superfund) sites.  This funding will accelerate ongoing cleanup activities or initiate new construction projects at 50 Superfund sites across the country.

EPA Requests Applications for Brownfield Job Training Grants (posted March 20, 2009)

On March 19, 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a request for applications for Brownfields Job Training Grants funded by the stimulus. These grants are awarded on a competitive basis to eligible governmental entities and nonprofit organizations to train personnel in the assessment, remediation or preparation of brownfield sites. Applications for these grants must be submitted by April 20, 2009.
